Back to School in a Brand New Way

As a part of the Peak 8 base area transformation, Breck unveils refresh and convenient experience as guests arrive at the heart of the mountain. The new plaza becomes even more family friendly with skier drop off, escalators between street-level and plaza-level, elevated skier services headquarters and a brand new kids ski school facility.

“It’s all about convenience,” said Jeff Lifgren, Sr. Director of Skier Services, guest arrive steps away from the top of the gondola making it easier to access the mountain.”

The family experience was top of mind when designing the new facility with kids lessons and child care spanning from ages 3 to 14 all in one location. “Not only does it make drop off easier for the parents, but siblings of different ages get to stay together and even see each other  throughout the day,” said Robin Kisiel, Ski School Training Manager.

Beyond a more convenient and improved ski school experience, the facility layout offers a one-stop-shop. “It makes getting onto the mountain so much easier with lessons, lift tickets and rentals all in one place,” noted Mike Hafer, Ski School Sr. Manager. We might also mention that along with everything you need to ski, coffee and cocktails are also available when the time is right!

Along with the new facility, comes a revitalized energy. “We’re proud of our space,” said Mike, “we’re excited to welcome guests and share the inviting culture of Breck with them.”

Whether you treat yourself to the “slippers-to-boots” experience by staying right above the plaza or head up from town, there’s fun for the whole family at the new Peak 8 base area – including ice skating! Learn more about what’s new this season during Breck’s Winter Awakening.
