Epic Discoveries, Epic Memories

If you love the Breckenridge Ski Resort summers just as much as the winters, get ready to experience epic in a whole new way. This summer at Breck, Epic Discovery comes to life. A project several years in the making, Epic Discovery is a buffet of on-mountain activities that will get your adrenaline pumping, engage all of your senses, and deepen your connection with the unique high alpine Breckenridge environment.
The journey begins at the base of Peak 8. From there, the Colorado SuperChair will whisk riders up to Alpine Camp, located at just over 11,000 feet. After you take in the views, you’ll choose your own adventure. Here are the four options for Epic Discovery at Breck this summer:
Expedition Zip Line Tour
From the top of the Colorado SuperChair, you’ll hitch a ride to Independence Outpost on Peak 7 to get up close and personal with the trees. Gain a completely new perspective by zigging and zagging between towers nestled among the evergreen canopy above Ore Bucket. With eight zip lines and a 200 foot long aerial bridge, the Expedition Zip Line is a thrill-seeker’s dream. Keep your eyes peeled for porcupines hanging out in tree branches!
Alpineer Challenge Course
Relive your best summer camp memories by taking on the Alpineer Challenge Course. Test your physical and mental fortitude as you make your way through the course’s 15 features. Bring your best balance and concentration, and see if you can keep up with your kids.
Gold Summit Climbing Wall
Channel your inner mountaineer and tackle this 40 foot climbing wall. Whether you’re a beginner or a chiseled expert, you’re sure to find a challenge among the wall’s 16 different routes.
Interpretive Trail & Animal Abilities
If you’re more comfortable experiencing Breck closer to the ground, don’t miss the Interpretive Trail. This short hike will give you a crash course on Breck 101. You’ll learn about local flora, fauna, and ecosystems, and you’ll also get a refresher on local mining history. Your kids will have so much fun learning things, like how mule deer hear, that they won’t even realize it’s educational!
There’s no doubt the Epic Discovery activities will excite you. They’re also designed to inspire you to engage more meaningfully with the Breckenridge environment. Around here, the White River National Forest is our backyard, and we understand just how special our mountain environment is. To make sure we all have the opportunity to experience the beauty and grandeur of our public lands, Vail Resorts is donating one percent of all summer lift ticket and activity revenue to The Nature Conservancy to support protection of our national forests for generations to come.
