Top 10 things to do in Breck during Spring 2017

1. Hope on the Slopes

On Feb. 25, 2017 this team-challenge will benefit the American Cancer Society. It’s a vertical challenge where a skier or snowboarder can participate and the team with the most vertical feet, will be awarded with prizes. 2. Hollywood & Wine, a night on the Red Carpet

Breckenridge Film Festival and Speakeasy will host this event on Feb. 26. All attendees have the opportunity to vote on the Academy Award ballot and prizes are awarded for best dressed. Food, beverage, and also a highly coveted silent auction will be available.

3.  Mardi Gras

On Feb. 28 the New Orleans spirit is celebrated with masks, beads, music and a tribute to the carnival season in The Village of Breckenridge. Parade starts at 4:30 and ends with a concert.

4. Breck Pride Week

 March 22-26 is all about celebrating the welcoming spirit and friendliness Breck has to offer. Whether LGBT, straight, skier, snowboarder, beginner or expert, Breckenridge wants you to join in on Color Run with costumes, live music, Après, and even a live comedy show.

5. Easter Egg Hunt

On Easter Sunday April 16, the Easter Bunny has hidden eggs on Peak 8 and 9 with a celebration afterwards. There’s a designated area for children where they can be monitored while they hunt for eggs.

6. Spring Beer Festival

April 8-9 on Ridge St. and is the premier spring event with over 35 breweries joining to offer tastings, free live music, and VIP access to food and retail vendors.

7. Fever Reliever

If you’re shopping on Ridge or Main St. check out the shops that advertise Spring Fever in their window and ask for the “Fever Reliever” discount. Depending on the store they will provide a discount, gift bag, or a gift with purchase.

8. Competitions

GoPro Big Mountain Challenge

March 18 – 20 with Finals at Peak 6 with steep lines, tight chutes, and cliff drops. Spectator friendly and accessible by Kensho SuperChair. Click Here to view the 2016 recap!

Mt. Dew Spring Open

Located in Park Lane on the Triple Jump Line on April 1st. Cash prizes are awarded to top three athletes in each category, amateur or professional. After the competition celebration will take place at T-Bar.

Imperial Challenge

On April 22 observe athletes take on a 6-mile bike ride to the base of Peak 8 and watch them ascend to either the top of T-Bar or the top of Peak 8 and ski or ride down.

9. Spring Fever Park Jam

During Spring Fever every Friday (April 7, April 14, and April 21) there will be a jam style session in Freeway and Park Lane with free hot dogs and music. GoPros, season passes, and other prizes will be awarded to those with the best skills in the park!

10. Chili Cook Off

Top chefs will face off in a heated challenge to see whose recipe is the best. Come to Sevens patio to help decide who wins, the best part is you get to try out the chili and vote!
