Welcome to Breck

Conditions Update: Let It Snow!

2017 has started off with a bang, with 17 inches over Wednesday and Thursday! This snow brings our season total to 131 inches with a 48 inch base.

Breckenridge Resort Pow Day

On Wednesday we were greeted with 8 inches and it was like groundhogs day on Thursday as the storms left us with another 9 inches.

Currently we have 99 percent of our terrain open with 2875 of 2908 acres open.

By Friday the snow had stopped and the sun had come out but don’t expect it to stick around for long.

Saturday there was still plenty of places to make fresh tracks, you just had look in the right areas.

Events Next Week

Next week Ullr Fest kicks off! Come join the fun from January 11th-14th with bike races to parades to the longest shot ski there is something from everyone.

Do you want to be in the know when it comes to weather and the climate? The public is invited to the special community town hall meeting of the Glen Gerberg Weather and Climate Summit where your questions about weather and the climate can be answered by top experts. Members of NASA, NOAA, National Hurricane Center and other organizations will be on hand sharing what their research and years of dedication to weather, climate and other topics have revealed. This special community town hall meeting will be at the Double Tree Hotel in Breckenridge on Wednesday, January 11th, 2017 from 6:00-7:00PM.

Weather Outlook

Saturday expect to see a warming trend with temperatures predicted to be in the mid 20s. After Saturday there are chances of snow until later in the week with highs in the 30s. Keep those layers on hand because if it does snow, the temperatures will feel a little cooler than they actually are. Hopefully Ullr will be appeased and bring us plenty of snow before and after his festival next week.

Stay safe and see you on the mountain!
