Best Breck rainy day activities

Breckenridge has the reputation for being sunny and beautiful most of the year, but sometimes it does gets a little stormy. Don’t let the rain get you down, there is still plenty to do! Here are a few of my favorite places to spend a rainy day in Breck:
Breckenridge Recreation Center
Just because it’s rainy, doesn’t mean you can’t be active! Breckenridge hosts a world class recreation facility with plenty of options for playing inside. Of course you could workout in the weight room or on the cardio machines, but, better yet, find your inner kid- shoot some hoops, hit the tennis ball around, swim a few laps, slide down the Summit Plummet Slide, get dynamic in the racquetball court, or scurry up the indoor rock-climbing wall.
Old Man Berkins Bookstore
Sometimes the best way to spend a rainy day is curled up with a good book. Get lost in this eccentric bookstore browsing the over 25,000 new and used books they have. The owner, Justin, can always recommend a good book based on your tastes. Be sure to check out the locally made candles and fun vintage clothing too!
Broken Compass Brewing Company
Broken Compass Brewery is a great place to spend the afternoon. Bring your own snacks, grab one of the games they provide and order a flight to try all their delicious brews! Play some chess or make new friends playing Cards Against Humanity at one of the communal tables. The bartenders are friendly and knowledgeable. Also, while you are at north end of town, check out the award winning Breckenridge Distillery across Airport Road, which host half hour tours daily from 11:00 am till 5:30 pm.
Escape Room
The Escape Room is a unique way to spend your rainy day. This is a great activity for a family, a group of friends, or a date. Test your problem solving skills as you find clues, crack codes, and solve riddles in order to escape a pirate or hollywood themed room before time runs out!
Speakeasy Movie Theater
Catch a movie in the recently renovated Community Center. Not only can you buy the typical movie snacks like popcorn, candy, and soda, but you can also grab a beer or a glass of wine. While you’re at it, swing by the beautiful library which is in the same building.
Meta Yoga Studio
One of my favorite ways to keep moving on a rainy day is to take one of the many yoga classes offered at this beautiful studio. Enjoy your practice as you catch glimpses out their huge windows of the majestic Tenmile Range. The teachers a welcoming, warm, and mindful.
The Breckenridge Arts District
Explore your creative side in the newly upgraded Breckenridge Arts District. Throughout summer there are a multitude of events, classes, and workshops for people of all ages and interest.
