Welcome to Breck

15 inches of spring snow

What an absolute treat for our last week of the 2015-16 ski season, 15 inches of beautiful spring skiing and riding. The snow started yesterday afternoon, and came down very heavy until about 10pm. What started as wet, even coastal-like snow soon changed to the champagne dryness we are all used to Colorado. The result is a very solid, carve-y base with about 10 inches of soft fluffy pow on top. Pretty much absolutely perfect skiing conditions. With this storm came a surprising lack of wind movement, so it’s guaranteed the powder will be abundant everywhere.

For the final snow message of the season, the snow message team ventured to their favorite stomping ground, North Bowl. Most of the shots in the video were captured on White Crown and Forget-Me-Not, but there’s also some from Northstar as well as One-eyed-Jack, the big rock drop in Contest Bowl.

A note to our late-season guests, Peak 10 is now closed, and Peaks 9, 7 and 6 will close this Monday. While this is a sad thing, we simply don’t have the patrol resources this late in the season to maintain our entire mountain. For the last week of the season however, Peak 8 will remain open from top to bottom, so don’t miss out on your last Breck turns of this winter.
