Morning conditions from Peak 8’s spruce

This morning at Breckenridge Ski Resort was one for the books. The sunrise sprawled over Breck with vibrant colors, setting the scene for the weekend ahead. I can’t think of a better way to start the weekend than by getting some fresh turns in on the mountain – after a good cup of coffee, of course.
I ventured up to Peak 8 and headed to the Spruce run to check the conditions. Temperatures were mild and the wind was very calm, even on the chair ride up the mountain. The sky was cloudy with pieces of blue sky shining through, as the day will clear up with sunny skies this afternoon.
Spruce was groomed perfectly as I headed down the run, thanks to the talented grooming team here at Breck. The snow was smooth all the way down Spruce, perfect for making continuous turns on one of my favorite runs.
The mostly clear skies will hold for the remainder of the day, but tomorrow the weather will change for our next chance for snow accumulation. Forecasts are calling for a chance of snow in the daytime, with a possible 1 to 2 inches tomorrow evening.
