Welcome to Breck

Hot cocoa, Mr. and Mrs. Claus delight at Peak 8

As the holidays are a time of giving, the presents just keep coming at Breckenridge Ski Resort – even after yesterday’s flash toy gifting. Today, resort hosts surprised skiers and snowboarders with complementary cups of hot cocoa, right on the snow at the base of Peak 8! To sweeten the surprise, Santa and Mrs. Claus were on the mountain to bring the good cheer.
It was a wonderful scene at the base of Peak 8 Tuesday morning as everyone was enjoying hot chocolate before catching the Colorado SuperChair up the mountain. Families cheered with their hot drinks and raved about the surprise. “Thank you for the hot chocolate! It’s awesome and it’s snowing – this is the place to be!”

I followed Santa and Mrs. Claus up the Colorado SuperChair and as they posed for photos at the top of Peak 8. EpicMix photographers snapped photos of skiers and snowboarders with the Christmas-y duo. From there Santa and Mrs. Claus headed to The Maggie on Peak 9 to delight more mountain-goers. What a better way to celebrate the holiday than with fresh snow, hot chocolate and mountain fun? It can’t be beat!

The snow was falling all morning, adding to the seven inches of snow in the last two days. There’s more snow in the forecast for tonight with 3 to 6 inches possible and another 3 to 6 inches of daytime accumulation for tomorrow.

Breckenridge is one of the most beautiful locations to spend the holidays, and with the surprises the Breckenridge Ski Resort teams enacted this week, the holiday cheer is shining bright. If you haven’t booked your dream trip yet, don’t fret. Breck carries the holiday cheer all season long, meaning you’ll experience the holiday spirit no matter if you come for the holidays or in the New Year!
