What’s happening at Breck this month

Dew Tour at Breck

December is a great month to be in Breckenridge! There are all sorts of fun festivities and events happening around town to close out 2015. Here are some of the exciting things going on this month:

lightingofbreckLighting of Breckenridge:
Kick off the first weekend in December with some holiday cheer at the Lighting Of Breckenridge. On Dec. 5 enjoy caroling and dancing in the Blue River Plaza or participate in the race of the Santas. There will be free hot cocoa and cookies. A special guest (Santa!) will lead the Bernese Mountain Dog Parade to the lighting of the town tree. Afterwards, share your holiday wishes and take photos with Santa at the Barney Ford Museum .

Breckenridge Creative Arts:
Swing by the Breckenridge Arts District to check out the Handmade Holiday Market, a holiday craft market Dec. 4-6 on Washington Street- a perfect place to pick up unique holiday gifts. Artisans will be selling jewelry, ceramics, candles, accessories and more, with no item priced over $50. Be sure to check out the Breckenridge Creative Arts, or BreckCreate, for classes, workshops, and more. Also swing by the Tin Shop to visit the monthly artist in residence, Annie Kerr with Wild Balance Jewelry.  A Christmas Story , a stage adaptation of the holiday classic film, will be playing at the Riverwalk Center Dec. 22-30.

Dew Tour 2012Dew Tour Mountain Championships:
For the eighth straight year, the Dew Tour will return to Breckenridge Dec. 10-13. Events include four days of snowboard and freeski competitions on Brecks world-renowned Freeway park and pipe, live concerts, meet and greets with the athletes, games, and giveaways!

New Year’s Eve:
Ring in New Year’s at 9,600 feet! Breckenridge will host all sorts of fun festivities on Dec. 31. Kids are invited to participate in the Glow Worm Parade, where they can ski down a green run with glow sticks in hand. At 6:00, watch the Torchlight Parade on Peak 9, where instructors from the Ski and Ride School will ski down with torches. At 9:00 watch Breckenridge light up with fireworks!
