Welcome to Breck

Big snow coming to start Breck’s season

Snow is coming! Snow is coming! We here at Breckenridge couldn’t be more exited about the upcoming snowstorm Mother Nature and Ullr have up their sleeves. Prepare for powder – and tons of it! The first full week of the season is bringing more snow than we could have dreamed of.

Breckenridge is expecting one of the biggest snowstorms of the season with predicted snow totals between 10 and 20 inches from Monday into Tuesday afternoon. 10 to 18 inches are expected by Monday night with an additional 3 to 7 inches expected to fall Tuesday morning before 11 a.m., an ideal recipe for those who love big powder and untouched terrain. The storm will likely produce very heavy snow through the mountains, with lighter snow in the plains.

Chances of snow are expected thorough Wednesday and again Friday, setting the stage for fresh powder all week long. The expected totals will lend a hand to runs and trails that need a little more snow, but in the meantime, awesome runs are already open – including Duke’s Run on Peak 8. Duke’s is already an excellent run but with Monday’s added snow, it will be off the charts! We can’t wait to share more footage with you as the snow piles up.

Come ski or ride Tuesday for the freshest powder, but be sure to come back this weekend for untouched snow via Breck’s three open lifts and six runs. More lifts and runs will be open soon as more snow graces the slopes.
