Breckenridge Ski Resort Opening Day details

The lifts start turning at Breckenridge Ski Resort at 9 a.m. on Friday, November 13, marking Opening Day for the 2015-16 season. The strong combination of Mother Nature’s snow and Breck’s snowmaking has prepped Peak 8 for skiers and snowboarders for opening day turns with festivities starting at 8 a.m.
“Because of recent snow accumulation and the efforts of Breck’s snowmaking and grooming teams, the resort is happy to announce it will have more than 80 acres ready for Friday’s opening,” said Gary Shimanowitz, Vice President of Mountain Operations. “Our teams are committed to providing excellent snow conditions to guests, and with more snow in the forecast this week we are hopeful to announce additional terrain by Friday. It should be a great opening.”
Opening Day Details
Breck will open with at least 80 acres of terrain on three runs including Springmeier, Trygve’s and Middle 4 O’clock; the Colorado SuperChair, 5 Chair and Rip’s Ride will be in operation. Opening Day starts at 8 a.m. at the base of Peak 8 with some early morning cheer before the Colorado SuperChair starts turning at 9 a.m. The first several hundred guests on opening day will be treated to free handmade cinnamon rolls from Ski Hill Grill, Sobe drink samples and other prizes courtesy of Breck’s official partners. FREE photo prints from EpicMix Photo will be available and games will be on-site to challenge friends and family. DJ DC will get the party started in Red Bull’s MXT DJ truck. Additional festivities will include a special tribute to honor United States service men and women to commemorate this week’s Veterans Day.
