The Alpine SuperSlide: A Breckenridge summer must

Alpine SLide Breckenridge

The Breckenridge Summer Fun Park opens June 12 and the star of the show – well, one of the stars – is the Alpine SuperSlide. If you haven’t whipped down the mountain on this slick quarter-mile track, be sure to put it on your summer bucket list.

Alpine Slide at BreckenridgeConstruction on the fiberglass-plexiglass Alpine SuperSlide was completed in 1979. Guests take a 10-minute scenic chairlift ride up the front side of Peak 8 and choose from three different tracks that twist and turn for 2,600 feet. Hop in your sled-like car, note the handbrake, and get ready for an exhilarating three-minute thrill ride.

You may feel like you’re flying as adrenaline and gravity propel you down the slope, dipping and banking off turns in your own cart. Age 8 or 48, you’ll hop off at the bottom giddy and ready to do it again.

The rules: Ages 7 and up may ride alone; ages 3 to 6 must ride with an adult

Tickets:

Make the most of your day with an all-day Fun Park Ticket, granting you access to tons of activities on the mountain. All-day Fun Park tickets are available online at a slightly discounted rate.
