Welcome to Breck

A great storm for the last weekend of the season [video]

Just when you start to think, “I may be ready for winter to end”, Mother Nature reminds us why we love this season so much. While it was relatively dry the last week or so at Breckenridge, we reported 10 inches in 24 hours this morning with much more falling in the morning hours. As stated by DJ DC in the video, the T-bar terrain was wind-loaded with an additional 3-6 inches of powder by the time the snow message team got there.

While the snow today was a bit wetter and heavier (as it would be in April), it was like we were back in the dead of winter when it came to snowfall. The powder was deep and covered up an undesirable terrain underneath. After hitting the trees in the North Bowl, the snow message team decided it was the perfect day to see what was going on in Contest Bowl. Brent Meyer, snow model and resident bada$$ snowboarder sent a huge flip out of nowhere on “King Rock”, setting the tone for the day.

We are expecting more fresh snow tomorrow, so if you are not planning on being at Breck this weekend you should really think hard about that decision.

The snow message team would like to thank everyone for their views and general stoke surrounding the videos and photos this season. Can’t wait to put more out next year!

The final weekend for Breck is also the last weekend for Spring Fever! Be sure to catch American Authors on Saturday and Infamous String Dusters on Sunday. Concerts start at 3pm at the base of peak 8

‘Til next season!
