Run of the Day: Mineshaft [video]

The snow just will not stop falling here in Breck. Over the last week, we have gotten a consistent accumulation of three to four inches of fresh snow almost every day, and today was no different.
Skiers and riders woke up early Sunday morning to a fresh 4 inches of snow on the ground, but it felt like more than that given just how soft the snow conditions have been as of late.
Today, we take a run down one of Peak 9’s steepest runs, Mineshaft. Mineshaft is accessed from the top of Peak 9 via E-Chair, Mercury SuperChair, or Beaver Run SuperChair. Mineshaft is a great hidden gem because unlike many of the other runs under E-Chair, Mineshaft cannot be accessed directly from the top, but instead must be accessed through the gate off of Devil’s Crotch.
This somewhat difficulty of access causes less skier and rider traffic, and therefore enables an environment where the run can have better snow conditions much later into the day than it’s easier accessed hellistic neighbors.
