Peak 8 – The perfect day [video]
Breckenridge‘s five peaks offer a wide variety of terrain. There’s absolutely something for every skier and rider, whether it’s untouched powder, an immaculate park or endless corduroy. In the “Perfect Day” series, we will explore Breckenridge peak by peak, and ask some influential Breck figures why they appreciate their favorite hill.
The first video in our series focuses on the big mac daddy, Peak 8. Local DJ, announcer and snowboarding fanatic DJ DC takes us through his optimal itinerary for an incredible day:
Starting in town, DC likes to grab a bite and some coffee before heading up the gondola. Immediately upon reaching Peak 8’s base, he heads to the Colorado SuperChair and over to Park Lane for some early morning rails and jumps. After a few laps, DC knows its time to head to the upper mountain. Given the choice between 6-Chair and the T-bar, DC says he’ll choose the T-bar and rip down the gut of Horseshoe Bowl. On the next lap, he’ll head over to Contest Bowl to “grab some rail, and touch some sky” off some of the drops, like Joker Rock. By the time he’s had his fill of Horseshoe, Imperial Express is turning and taking skiers and riders up the highest lift in North America. DC spends the rest of his day shredding Imperial Bowl and all the wonderful snow that comes with it. To finish the day, DC heads to the T-Bar at the base of Peak 8 for après drinks and food.
DC favors Peak 8 for the wide breath of riding it provides. From groomers to park, to America’s highest lift, Peak 8 is his quintessential Breck.
Still looking for more on-mountain action? Peak 8 is only one of the five peaks that Breck offers to it’s guests. Stay tuned for more videos in the “Perfect Day” series!
