Welcome to Breck

Fun activities in Breckenridge over Christmas Break

Its that time of year again, where the town of Breckenridge starts to get the buzz of the holiday season and the magical feeling of Christmas envelopes your stroll down main street.

Everyone knows the amazing December skiing Breck has to offer, but there are many off the hill activities for skiers and riders to enjoy.

At the base of Peak 8, sits the Gold Runner Rollercoaster, 2,500 feet of elevated track zip down the mountain through the trees to the base. This is a great attraction for those thrill seekers out there.

Prepare to make some train tracks in the ice. The Stephen C. West Ice Arena is Breck’s premier ice skating facility. Open seven days a week, they offer open skate sessions throughout the day. Check their schedule for current open rink times.breckenridgesleddingnickpease178

If self-sufficiency is your thing, grab your mittens and sled, and head across town to Carter Park, where you will find the best sledding hill the Breckenridge has to offer. Make your way to the top before taking the plunge and racing friends and family down to the bottom.

For Happy Hour and Après Ski, check out the Maggie Restaurant at the base of Peak 9. With a brand new sound and lighting system, The Maggie has live music every Friday and Saturday afternoon from 3pm to 6pm, when daily drink and food specials go on sale. Test your stamina with Maggie’s Loaded Nachos, a mountain of goodness to satisfy your entire crew.

Finally, for guests interested in a bit more romantic, and off the beaten path dining option, book a reservation for a Starlight Dinner. Get whisked away to the Ten Mile Station at the top of Breckenridge on Peak 9 for a one of a kind candlelit dinner experience. Here, your worries float off into the night sky as you escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life when you find yourself in this serene, secluded dining experience.
