Welcome to Breck

8 inches overnight makes for a powder day – Nov 23, 2014 [video]

Powder Day at Breckenridge!

This morning saw lots of smiling faces as the lifts began turning at the base of Peak 8. After receiving eight inches of snow overnight, the sun peeked out, and the powder hounds were out to get after their share of the fresh snow. Throughout the day, snow clouds battling the sun left a few more freshies on the ground, making for an incredible day of skiing and riding.

The mountain opened with lower Peak 8 this morning, and the snow message team made some turns down Spruce. Skiers and riders hollered at us from the new six-pack Colorado SuperChair in anticipation of their own fresh lines. Much to everyone’s excitement, Chair 6 opened around 9:30am and gave access to some deep snow and beautiful shots on both Amen and East Snowbird. It was a truly an awesome day out there, and as the weather continues to sock in around town we look forward to seeing what mother nature may bring us for tomorrow.

It is really shaping up to be an amazing early season here in Breck. The snow forecast looks promising for next week’s holiday, and we anticipate to see more terrain opening in the near future.
