The Maggie: Peak 9’s hub for breakfast, lunch and après

Get to know the ski lodge with meals made from scratch and live music every weekend:
Adjacent to the Quicksilver lift on Peak 9 at Breckenridge Ski Resort, not only does The Maggie serve up breakfast, lunch and a high-energy après scene geared toward the whole family, but does so with many bells and whistles you may no be aware of in your eagerness to reach the mountain in the morning or put your feet up in the afternoon.
If your breakfast plan entails chomping a frozen granola bar on the chairlift, perhaps you’d rather dive into a fresh skillet or a rib-eye steak and egg breakfast. You might want to grab a healthy wrap or a delicious rib eye for lunch and plan to seal up your fun on the hill with free live music every Friday and Saturday. The Maggie’s lineup this season includes hot local and regional acts like folk rock duo Kevin Danzig & The Faith, four-piece rock band The Big Onions and singer songwriters Dave Nichols and Shane Kitlas.
There is an unmistakable ambiance of family fun at The Maggie. We are talking about a place that makes its own hummus from scratch and even its own tortilla chips, people. There are more surprising tidbits that set The Maggie apart from your run-of-the-mill ski lodge, as told by general manager Christina Harmon:
The Maggie has an array of omelettes and yummy breakfast plates. What is your favorite?
Christina Harmon: Our strawberry stuffed French toast is one of my favorites with its fresh strawberries and jam topped with whipped cream. It satisfies my sweet tooth
Besides the standard burger or pizza, what does The Maggie offer for lighter lunch fare that you might not find at other ski lodges?
CH: I enjoy our fresh garden salads … they are a satisfying light meal with fresh produce and homemade salad dressings.
What would you say is the most special of the Maggie’s drink specials?
CH: I like the fresh-squeezed mimosas. Yum.
OK, last food/drink question. What is the most delicious snack item to get to during The Maggie’s full-service 3 to 6 p.m. après ski block?
CH: For après I love the fondue that comes with lightly toasted demi baguettes and fresh vegetables … great snack for the family.
What’s new at The Maggie this season?
CH: Our new coffee shop Maggie’s Mug opens this season. You can visit Maggie’s Mug for Starbucks coffees as well as grab-and-go breakfast and lunch items. Also new this season is our Pub Club. You can purchase you own 20-ounce mug and receive drink specials from the bar all season long beginning Dec. 6.
