Breckenridge Summer Couple Hiking

Summer in Breckenridge is nearly here and the season’s events are plentiful. From outhouse races to winding bike rides through fields of wildflowers, take a look at what’s around the corner in Breck.

Kingdom Days:
Summer in Breckenridge officially kicks off on June 14 and 15 during the annual Kingdom Days festival. Come celebrate Breck’s mining history and learn more about the town’s adventurous past at events that include outhouse races, burrow rides, gold mining demonstrations, orchestra concerts, walking tours and sidewalk sales at the many boutiques and shops in town.

Mountain biking & hiking:
Summer in BreckBreckenridge is a mecca for outdoor adventurers. Escape the city heat and enjoy Breckenridge’s endless trail system.  Cruise the bike path to Frisco for lunch or ride all the way through Copper to Vail. If you’re looking for a challenge, climb the highest peak in the Tenmile Range and one of Colorado’s many 14’ers, Quandary Peak. The technical and winding downhill trails are perfect for the thrill seekers, and strolls through the wildflowers are perfect for all outdoor lovers. Whatever you’re seeking, the mountains of Breckenridge will deliver adventure and nature at their finest.

USA Pro Cycling Challenge:
The world’s best bike racers roll into Breck for the Stage 5 finish of the USA Pro Cycling Challenge on August 22. Live race coverage begins at 11:00 a.m. on the jumbotron located on the Riverwalk Center lawn. Enjoy free concerts, Main Street bike races, vendors and festivities as the riders speed into town. Feeling creative? Win VIP passes by entering the Host City Poster Contest.

Main Street Station World Market:
In early June the Main Street Station World Market opens to the public on Sundays. Shop regional produce and handmade items all while enjoying local food, culture and art.

Breck Summer Fun Park:
Breck Gold Runner CoasterTake the gondola up to the base of Peak 8 for a day in the Summer Fun Park. Enjoy rides on the Gold Runner Coaster, navigate your way up the climbing wall, go for par on the putt-putt golf course or soak in the mountain views from the chairlift. With activities for all ages, the Breck Summer Fun Park is a must-do for all travelers.

 

Beer in Breck:
As the summer winds down, Breckenridge Oktoberfest heats up. From September 12-14, grab your beer stein and lederhosen and get down to Main Street for the 20th Annual Breckenridge Oktoberfest. Costumes, German food, great beer, live music and dancing light up the streets of town. Friday, September 14 marks the Annual Brewmaster’s Dinner. During this event, discover the many tastes of European cuisine paired with beer and wine at the Grand Lodge at Peak 7. Be sure to purchase tickets in advance as this event sells out quickly.
