A local’s guide to spring break in Breck

Updated 1/26/2015
Spring break is always phenomenal at Breckenridge Ski Resort, and this year is going to be no different. With over 16 feet of snowfall during the 2014/15 season already, Spring Break in Breck is shaping up to be another perfect party on the mountain.
Start planning your Breck Spring Break now and join the biggest spring festival in the Rockies. Here are some pointers to get you going:
What to Expect
Free live music, après scenes, parties, competitions, Easter festivities, family-friendly events — Breck’s month-long Spring Fever festival serves up tons of things to do on the mountain. Spring Fever 2015 kicks off March 11 and continues through Breck’s Closing Day, April 19, 2015. Get the scoop on last year’s Breck Spring Fever Signature Events.
Catch free concerts at the base of Peak 8 on select Saturday and Sunday afternoons in April. Check back at BreckSpringFever.com for big-name acts to be announced soon.
Love good beer? Grab tickets to the Breckenridge Spring Beer Festival Saturday, April 11, 2015. This downtown street-fest has been known to sell out, so plan in advance. If you’re looking for a party, head to some of these super fun spring-breaker-preferred bars around Breck.
Where to Ski
If you haven’t skied it yet this season, a cruise down Breck’s newest peak, Peak 6, is in order. The high-alpine intermediate and advanced bowls are a blast. For laid-back, stomach-dropping rollers, take laps on Peak 7. It’s a family favorite, along with the bottom of Peak 9. For more challenging terrain, rip down black-diamond-rated Peak 10 or ride the T-bar and Imperial Express SuperChair to the resort’s advanced upper bowls. View our resort maps to plan your perfect day.
Keep in mind longer days mean more sun and softer, spring skiing conditions. The later in the season, the more likely you’ll encounter slushy, mashed potato-ish snow. Don’t worry, there’s typically plenty of snow left on the slopes in April. Bring sunscreen and drink lots of water.
Save money by purchasing your lift tickets in advance.
For the lowest guaranteed price on lift tickets – up to 25 percent off – purchase your lift tickets online in advance (same day lift tickets are now available online). Visit the lift tickets page or call (888) 216-8538.
Where to Stay
Staying close to the action is key for getting the most out of your spring break at Breck. With walk-to-the-lifts lodging, your group can ski, see a daytime concert, have a drink on the patio at the base of the mountain, and head back to the room to rest, hot tub or get ready for a night out at their convenience.
