Breck Epic Team prepares for Sochi at the Dew Tour

Breck Epic Team athletes took advantage of the season’s first Olympic selection event being held in their hometown with a strong showing in last week’s Dew Tour iON Mountain Championships. Slopestyle has been added to the roster for this year’s Olympics, and Breck athletes made their presence known in the new discipline as the official Road to Sochi begins.

Bobby Brown has battled injury throughout the summer, but showed he’s back in form with a solid fourth-place finish in Men’s Freeski Slopestyle. With two international athletes

claiming podium spots, Bobby is in the second qualifying position as he looks to make his first U.S. Olympic team. Breck teammate and Great Britain Olympic Team member James Woods finished two spots behind Bobby with a sixth place run, placing two Breck athletes in the top 10.

On the Women’s Freeski Slopestyle side Keri Herman also finished fourth in a packed field. While she didn’t walk away with any hardware, Keri’s performance did put her in a comfortable third qualifying position for the Olympic squad.

Hometown favorite Eric Willet wow’d the crowd with his qualifying run in the Men’s Snowboard Slopestlye event, landing him second just behind Shaun White. He couldn’t pull off quite the same feat in the Sunday final, finishing in ninth, but with several international athletes in the field Eric is in strong position heading into this weekend’s Grand Prix.

Zack Black battled competition filled with household names to make the finals in Men’s Snowboard Superpipe. His performance landed him in 15th place.
