Welcome to Breck

The best Breck runs for Valentine’s Day

A couple at Breckenridge

For some, Valentine’s Day is spent running from florist to greeting card store to a restaurant and more. For Breckenridge locals, we spend Valentine’s day on the slopes. Here’s why you should too:

Black Diamonds are a girl’s best friend

While most women across the country are hoping for roses, chocolates, and jewelry this Valentine’s Day, black diamonds are a Breck girl’s best friend (black diamond runs that is).

The mountain boasts 36 percent of  terrain as expert, so Breck offers a girl all she could ask for this romantic holiday. Cozy up with your partner on the T-Bar before linking some turns together in the bowls. Or discover the local  powder stashes like “Quiver” on the south side of Peak 10, or the never-ending runs of the Peak 7 Bowl via the Imperial Express SuperChair.  Peak 9’s north side is also heart-pounding and hot, with runs like “Inferno” and “Sizzler.”

Be my Blue Valentine

Not ready for the double-black diamond terrain just yet?  There are plenty of runs for a romantic rendezvous  lower on the mountain. Try “Rendezvous” or “Forget-Me-Not” on Peak 8 or “Swinger” even.

Romance at Ten Mile Station

Additionally,  Breckenridge Ski and Ride School’s Ultimate Four, semi-private lesson option is an intimate way to experience a group lesson and meet other skiers and riders like you!  The Ultimate Four is perfect bridge between a large group and a private lesson; and with a max of four people per class, you get more individual attention with our professional and experienced instructors. That’s how I learned to snowboard and fell in love with my now-husband, Brad (read his President’s Day Blog here).

Skiing single

Spending Valentine’s day as a single, or looking for a place to end your ski trip romance? Breck has you covered there too – with some great runs off the 6 Chair, offering not-so-subtle hints with runs like “Way Out,” “Too Much,” “Solitude,” and “Adios.”  Don’t forget “Psychopath” and “High Anxiety” on the way back down the mountain.  And finally –hitting a nice line down “The End” in Peak 7 Bowl, and parting at the T-Bar, while shouting out “single” is probably the best bone-head way to end a romance a Breck.

Regardless if you in the singles line or sitting close together on the E chair, men and women agree – they love Breck; either for the variety of terrain, or the historic, 150-year-old town at its base. Come find out why my home mountain has stolen my heart and continues to be one of the top ski destinations globally, and fall in love with Breckenridge all over again.
