Best on-mountain food at Breck

So… you’re visiting Breck and you want to know where the good eats are on the mountain?  I call myself a food connoisseur, so let me tell you what the good word is!

Overall, Breck has definitely stepped up and improved their quality and selection of food on the mountain.

T-Bar

Let’s start with the newest on-mountain establishment, located conveniently at the base of Peak 8 right next to the gondola.  The T-Bar is the new happy hour après hot spot in Breck and has a very unique set up – a round building with high ceilings and plenty of flat screen TVs.  The menu features a new kobe beef burger plus a variety of other bar style foods, Mexican cuisine, 16 different beers on tap, house made Bloody Marys, and signature margaritas with infused tequilas.  After a long day on the slopes, it’s party time at the T-Bar!

Ski Hill Grill

Located right next to the T-Bar is the Ski Hill Grill, where you can get a full breakfast and lunch to keep you charged for a long day on the hill.  Breakfast features traditional eggs/bacon/hash brown dishes, burritos that can feed two, and a quick Starbucks coffee bar if you’re in a rush to hit the hill.

The lunch menu has changed this year and FINALLY (to my delight) includes loaded baked potatoes in addition to the wonderful bread bowl bar.  The Grill is also trying out waffles in as many ways as possible and features a large plate of chicken and waffles at their new upgraded carving station, plus a unique variety of waffle sandwiches at the Deli station.

Seven’s

Seven’s provides another unique dining experience and is a quick ride on the gondola over to the base of Peak 7.  Besides the T-Bar this is the only other full service sit-down restaurant on the mountain.  It is the closest to ‘upscale’ and features Colorado inspired comfort food and stone hearth oven pizzas.  The buffalo burger is fantastic and every Wednesday is all-you-can-eat crab night (if you dare!)

The Maggie

The last base area dining establishment is called The Maggie located on Peak 9.  You can easily start your day here by trying one of their famous breakfast skillets or a dozen mini-donuts.  Or even better, end the day with a beer and share a plate of their family sized nachos.

Vista Haus

Now brace yourself… if you actually want to get something to eat mid-mountain there are a couple options.  Vista Haus is located at the top of the Colorado Superchair on Peak 8 and features incredible views of the Ten Mile Range.  The local’s favorite, the meatball sub, is one of the most popular items, or try the chicken kabobs with wild rice. Feeling festive? Head to the Mexican station that features burritos and taco salads.

Ten Mile Station

TenMile Station is located right in between the top of the Quicksilver chair and the bottom of the Falcon chair on Peak 9.  It has a great patio and unique mining themed décor.  You can find the only other baked potato bar here, plus salad bar, and beer battered fish n’ chips.

In addition to the regular lunch menu, Ten Mile is debuting the Starlight Dinners this year.  Starting in December and continuing through the rest of the season, you can catch a cozy sleigh ride up to enjoy a divine 4-course meal.  My favorite menu items include the ancho crusted filet steak, jalapeno cornbread stuffed chicken, pecan crusted lamb, and the venison chops!  Call 970 547 5740 to make your reservation in advance.
