Tips for the perfect Breckenridge date
What’s your perfect date? An adrenaline-fueled day spent racing down Breck‘s upper bowls ending with a cozy corner table for two? Or a couple’s massage followed by a long hot tub soak and some ice skating?
On vacation, a weekend getaway or a random Thursday, combine a day of playing on the slopes with an evening discovering the best of Breckenridge.
Grab your skis or boards and head to Peak 8. Start your day with a high-speed ride on the Imperial Express SuperChair — the highest in North America, topping out at 12,840 feet — and challenge your date to hike another 150 vertical feet to the summit. Take in the county-wide view and then rip down 400 acres of advanced terrain.
Enjoy some laps on black diamond fun runs on Peak 10 and book an afternoon adventure trying something new like a snowmobiling or dogsledding.
Keep each other laughing with a young-at-heart day. Start out with some hot cocoa and breakfast skillets from theMaggie at the base of Peak 9 and take the Beaver Run SuperChair to groomed intermediate runs.
Pop over to Peak 8 to ride the Gold Runner Alpine Coaster and have your photo taken by the EpicMixphotographers. Spend the afternoon ice skating at theStephen C. West rink or hit Carter Park’s free sledding hill. Wind down over pizza and arcade games atDownstairs at Eric’s or burgers and to-die-for onion rings at Empire Burger.
Good Time Couple
Do you and your soul mate love to paint the town? Get on the hill early and treat yourselves to powder stashes in the trees along Peak 9 or ride The Burn on Peak 10 for some tight, fluffy turns. Take it over to the Freeway Terrain Park and Pipe and mingle with the local talent over rails and boxes.
Take an afternoon tour of the Breckenridge Distillery and sample their award-winning bourbon and new spiced rum. Dance until last call at Cecilias or see a big-name nationally touring reggae, funk or jam band at Three20South.
A room at One Ski Hill Place is in order for this complete romantic, relaxing, no-fuss date. Wake in your king suite at Breckenridge’s newest luxury property and enjoy breakfast overlooking Peak 8 in all its snowy, towering glory. Make some leisurely turns on runs like Crescendo and Springmeier.
Head back to your first-class lodging for a muscle-melting hot tub session followed by deep tissue massages at the resort’s Rejuvenation Center. Stop by the T-Bar for après cocktails and live entertainment and then hit the on-site underground bowling alley.
For another great date, check out the Silverthorne Ice Castle.
